G.A.A. Sponsors Hoedown Attired in overalls, jeans, and fan- ;y square-dance dresses, RHS gals :]rabbed their guys and dragged rhem to Terrier Hall for the Sadie Hawkins dance. The hoedown, spon- sored by GAA, lasted from 9 to 12 and featured Jay, a new band from San Francisco. With a farm-style sunhat acting as a crown, David Fitzgerald was named Sadie Hawkins King, and was promptly seated on his throne, a saddle, where he ruled the evening ' s many events. One of the more popular activi- ties of the night was gettin ' hitched, with ceremonies per- formed by Marryin ' Sam, Dick Bates. Other enjoyed pastimes ranged from plain old eating, to pyramid- building, to pass-the-person. But, whatever their endeavors, the Okies had a great time.

Seniors Rule City Early, April 22, the five council members, Becky Arnall, George Barich, Robin DeRieux, Jeanne Dick- erson, and Jann Wagner, set out to elect a mayor from among them- selves. A vote was then taken which revealed George Barich as mayor, who earnestly set out to lead the Seniors on Civics Day. After learning their different roles in city government, the 27 seniors and official counterparts met at the Kiwanis Club for lunch and an address by Superior Court Judge Rex Cranmer. Afterward, a City Council meeting was held at City hiall, where plans for a pocket park in the vicinity of 5th Avenue were discussed. twenty-eight Q Civics Day
