For the seniors it has been a year of excitement and turmoil-the play, the trip, and graduation activities. For the juniors there have been the constant planning and the preparation for the many activities of the year, as they look forward to next year when they will be seniors. While for the sophomores, it has been a year full of new experiences. Redford Union in 1959 is a combination of the old and the new-a modern exten- sion to our familiar old halls, many new teachers working with those we know so well, and activities introduced for the first time at H.U. Undendassmen Adverdsers Page Page Page Page Page Page With the growth of the Redford Union School District, it was necessary to increase the educational facilities of the high school. Consequently, a new section was added to the North end of the building. The second floor was occupied in April, 1958, easing the overcrowding to some extent. September 3, 1958, was the great day when the complete facilities of the addition were made available to the students. Twenty-one classrooms, including science and art rooms, a gym- nasium, and cafeteria, are available for Redford Union classes. Herbst, Whss Nledzlgxan, Nlr. Erlckson, and Nlr Crlll Since we were the last freshman class to enter the hugh school, we began our sophomore year still at the bottom of the ladder and wlthout a chance to welcome ln a lower class Shortly after the beglnnlng of school our Washington Club was fomued, and for the next few weeks we sold magazlnes This was the year we began to sponsor some actlvltles ln order to earn money for the class Our flrst attempt at money making was the very successful but dusty Sadle Hawkins Dance Our class was the flrst to sponsor the Bermuda Bounce, at which the glrls wore thelr best bemludas and the more coura geous boys showed thelr knees As JIIHIOFS we were confronted wlth the task of puttlng on the prom, a feat that took the entlre year to plan and complete The prom, called Sprlng Enchantment, was held at Hawthome Valley Country Club and we even man aged to make money on lt, somethnng whlch does not very often happen. 5 .xt , .4 ' 4 ?
