in Tom oi Timm miss oi 1952 As we, the June Class of '52, look back over our four years here at Redford Union, we find that we have a record to be proud of and lots to laugh at too. In September, 1948, we were a group of terrified and mystified freshmen, suffering the abuses of the higher classmen ibut that didn't last longl. After all this was over we settled down to being one of the most imusual freshman classes in history. We went around pick- ing on the upperclassmen, instead of the former vice-versa condition. On top of that, we were the first class to have freshman cheer- leaders, and our girls were the only ones ever invited to the Christ- mas tea. By the next fall we had assumed our places as upper-classmen fthe freshmen picked on usb. This year Mr. Burton's fflsoard of Edu- cation was introduced into the boys' class meetings. Ralph Carlton will testify that even though the board worked overtime to maintain order, it fell arrears in its business. Our big dance that year was the Kickoff Dance which netted us 560. When we became Juniors we tried a repeat performance on the Kickoff Dance deal. The result was a net profit of 5.26, as some blithering idiot melted S10 worth of ice cream in the Home Eco- nomics Room ovenl???! f at F125 31 Z

CONTIN UAT ION OF THE CLASS HISTORY This year we were vitally interested in the Student Council elec- tions as two of our more illustrious classmates, Sally Wangbichler and Bill Doty, were the candidates. It was a hot tamale of an elec- tion and Sally finally emerged as the first girl Student Council Pres- ident in Redford Union history. Of course, being Juniors, it was our duty to put on the ,J une Prom. We were ready and willing, but completely devoid of funds. We still can't remember how in the world we ever raised the cash, but we gave one of the nicest proms in a long time. Leonard Stanley, of television fame, provided the music, and we must say Mr. Stanley did a wonderful job ------- signing autographs. Now we are Seniors ---- stuck-up, important, regular intelligensia. We elected Sally Wangbichler as our class president and Bill Doty as our Vice President. Our main concerns this year were our class trip, and our revolutionary changes in the class day ritual. We decided to take a three day cruise to Mackinac Island for our class trip and about ninety of us went off on the joy-ride. Now our high school careers are over. With a sigh of relief, a tearful eye, and a sense of gratitude to our teachers, we close the last page in the history of the June Class of 1952. 32
