This class will hold many responsibilities in its new role. A Senior is greatly admired and often copied by the undergraduates. It is the Seniors duty therefore to set a good example in dress conduct scholastic achievement and participation in extra- curricular activities. The Senior also holds a certain obligation to his teachers and school advisors. During the four years prior to graduation these instructors attempt to prepare him for his future whether he goes on to gain a higher education to serve in the armed forces or to take his place in society. His teachers try both to educate him and build in him a strong well rounded character. As a Senior he must look to the years beyond graduation and work with these advisors in their unselfish toil. The foremost responsibility of a senior however is that which he holds to himself. He must endeavor to goin the education offered him to participate in class and school activities and to build in himself a rich character from the elements supplied him during these four years. , It is to these, tomorrow's leaders of Redford High School, that we, the January Class of 1957 dedicate our yearbook. 23 xi, 1 4:44.41 ?':ffif,af ,4 24,5154 hd, 5 G' rife., ,pw I 3 . 2 . s' 'zz ' ff' . FACULTY Se v.J 1 fa' ,fl HOMER A -ELARK PRINCIPAL Dear Seniors This edition of the Blazer arnves at a time when farewells are In order May I speak for the faculty to express our best wishes for you In the years that lie ahead We who have been associated with you for a sizable portion of your time for the last four years hope that In some way we have been Instrumental In giving you the wherewlthal to accept the responsibilities that will come your way Have you not been impressed and perhaps a little awed by the calm manner In which Important people take on gigantic responsibilities responsIbIlI ties that probably would throw you Into a panic If they were dropped Into your lap? Well, they would throw the Important fellows Into a panic, too, If It were not for the fact that they have licked a great many smaller problems on their way up--stepping stones to the big assignment. That s how they get the confidence they need. Confidence is nothing more than a firm faith that you, too, have what it takes. lt comes through repeated personal demonstrations of what you can do if you try. Through the classes, the clubs, the teams, and the committees we have tried to give you experience in doing iob after iob, under your own steam. Each demonstration gives you the self-assurance you need to undertake greater demonstrations. Through the classes we hope we have given you some skills and under- standings that will stand you in good stead in the business of making a living which eventually falls the lot of all of us. Wherever your path may lead, whether it be to a iob at once, to college, to marriage, to the armed services, our best wishes go with you. Come back and visit us when you can. You are always welcome. Keep this edition of the Blazer. It will become more precious as the years go by, to help to relive those happiest years of your life-your high school years. Sincerely your friend, Homer A.
