The Junior-Senior Prom of 1949 was held
in the auditorium on April 30. The theme this
year was "The '49ers,l' a tribute to the 1949
graduating class. The murals on the walls
were scenes of the western life of the '49ers
and the rest of the room complemented the
The main speakers were Mr. Kernpf, Miss
Allison and Mr. Baumann. The class prophecy
was given by Galen Gillette and Jim Ken-
nedy. Elaine Clark read the class will. Wayne
Harford, king, and Bonnie Hilkemeier, queen,

SWEETHEART JOYCE BADGER
Again making its appearance after a year vacation
was the Sweetheart Ball, held February l2 in the
Masonic Temple. Decorating the walls and ceiling with
hearts kept the guests in the festive mood. The Student
Council and the Pheasant Call were the sponsors of the

Don Bottum, Martin Predoehl, Aureole Ernst,
and Harriet Parsons.

A selective group of first graders
from Mrs, Larsen's room imitated
an old fashioned Virginia Reel, The
