April April April April May May May May May May This girls Wise 12148 P T A Freedom Train Aberdeen -Senior Skip Day Open House At Northern .Tr Sr Banquet Baccalaureate 12. 1948 16 1948 ? l 48 30. 1948 1 148 9 l 48 Commencement Seme ster s Semester s School Picnic 12, 1 48 13 148 14 1948 ATHQLHIGH SCHOOL DANCE Athol High Schbol held a dance at Chelsea South Dakota Nbvember 14 1947 dance was held in Chelsea because of the fire which burned the Athol Hall Advance ticket sales were conducted on November 6th and 7th The group of starting out on the morning of the Sth nf November were as follows Shirley Arlene Larsen Ioan Shantz, Frances Galvin, and Hazel Christiansen They canvassed the towns of Ashton, Mollette Northville and Cresbard and received a total of S62 75 for tickets sold that day On the following morning another group set out This group consisted of David Burton Duane Larsen Daryl Weideman Andy Thares, Marlin Groft and Vince Iungwirth They canvassed the towns of Frankfort Redfield Tulare and Zell They had a total of S63 00 for tickets sold during that day Music both old and new was furnished by Bierman s Band Numbers were sold on a radio and at midnight the lucky one was drawn It was won by a girl from Cresbard Something new was added in the form of a basket social Auctioning began after the radio was given away Approximately eighteen baskets were auctioned Altogether they totaled S41 00 Net profit on the dance and radio was S217 65 This money was used by the student council during the year to finance school activities including athletics PROJECTS SPONSORED BY STUDENT COUNCIL Among the projects sponsored by the Student Council during the past year was the purchase of a mineograph machine an electric radio basketball equipment and trips to neighboring towns to basketball garnes. In addition the school sponsored several school parties including the Iluxior Senior Banquet. The Student Council is thankful to the public for their splendid support of all school events. ARROWHEAD STAFF The Arrowhead Staff of 1948 consisted of the Journalism Class. People in the class were as follows: Vincent Jungwirth, Hazel Christiansen, Ethyl Grohs, Beverly Daniels, Beverly Grohs, and Marion McNee1y. Yvonne Galvin and Beverly Daniels were the photographers for the Arrowhead. The school is grateful to the Athol Arrowhead Staff for devoting so much of' their time and energy to make this annual possible.
