ROW TWO: 'Harold Summy, 'Richard Smeltzer, 'Maurice Pontius, Bob Aldrich, Richard Zellers, 'Howard Hoy, Jordan Kephart, 'Ronald Simpson. ROW THREE: Manager, Ralph Mitchell, 'Kenneth Hogan, 'Roger Martin, 'Darrell Stapes, 'Richard Bales, 'Norman Rogers, 'Clyde Robinson, Coach Jack Padilla. Thirty-six men reported to Coach lack Padilla for football this year, including ten lettermen from last year. Darrell Stapes, Norman Rogers, Maurice Pontius, Roger Martin, were selected to be on first all-conference team, while Richard Bales and Richard Smeltzer were selected to be on the second team. Howard Hoy, Ronald Simpson, Don Sloan and Kenneth Hogan were given honorable mention. Oi the ten games played this season, they lost to Dallas Center and Iohnston, giving them a tie for first place with Dallas Center for the championship. Sixteen boys were awarded letters. Richard Bales and Roger Martin were chosen to be honorary captains. P A-9' This season basketball practice was started with 30 girls November 7 Mr. Irvin started the girls and after iootball season was over, Coach Iack Padilla took over. The girls gave a good showing this season by winning the Racoon River Valley Conference Championship with 10 wins and no losses. Traveling with the girls are their manager, Laura Parker and chaperon Miss Leeper. The squad regrets losing live seniors, Patty Dunbar, Mary Lou Morris Carolyn Gibbons, Pauline Thompson and Dona Keltner.
