U D ROW TWO: Blanche Carpenter, Donna Lamb, Joyce Feldman, Maxine Wilson, Mona Gibler, Lela Mae Toler, Harold Summy, Jerry Patterson. I ROW THREE: Marilyn Turk, Marilyn Wigton, Janet Mills, Janet Reynolds, Elsie Sneathen, Jordan Kephart, Keith Hutchins, Warren Brandstatter. We started this year with a class ot twenty-iour. We lost Roger Burgess from last year. Ben Stonehocker leit our class in October and lla Mae Hodson left us in November. We elected Donna Mylan as president, Leah Parker for vice-president, and Keith Hutchins as secretary and treasurer. Iordhn Kephart represents our class as cheerleader. The following boys are out for football: 'Keith Hutchins, 'Harold Summy, Ierry Patterson, Iordan Kephart, and Lloyd Stapes. Three boys are on the basketball squad. They are Iordan Kephart, Harold Sumrny and Keith Hutchins. These girls are on the girls squad: 'Marilyn Turk, 'Lela Toler, 'Donna Lamb, 'Elsie Sneathen and 'Ianet Mills. Out for music are: Ioyce Feldman, Mona Gibler, Darlene Merical, Janet Mills, Donna Mylan, Leah Parker, Ianet Reynolds, Elsie Sneathen, Marilyn Turk, Harold Summy, Frankie Ulrich, Lela Toler and Marilyn Wigton. In the band are- Donna Mylan, Leah Parker and Maxine Wilson. Vocal soloists are Donna Mylan and Ianet Reynolds. In boys ensemble are Harold Surnrny and Frankie Ulrich. Lela Toler and Donna Mylan are on news staff. Ianet Reynolds is on annual staff. Darrell Stapes, Clyde Robison, and Maurice Pontius, lettered in football. Lena Mae Crase, Anna Mae Marlenee, Darrell Stapes, Maurice Pontius, Donald Mills are on the basketball squads. ROW TWO: Vivian Brandstatter, Verna Dudley, Dolores Jones, Mary Lou Spring, Patty Baker, Larene Belew, Warren Shade, Dean Dymond, Jerry Leeper, Bobby Thompson, James Cochran, Wayne Aldrich. ROW THREE: Miss Leeper, Rosella Kopaska, Shirley Reynolds, Joyce Downing, Romona Thompson, Elaine Rolston, Ada Coleman, Billy Woolman, James Mab- bitt, Darrell Cumpston. Thirty-three freshmen enrolled in high school, August 30, 1948. The subjects they are taking are general science, English, general mathematics or algebra and manual training or home economics. ' We elected as officers: Billy Woolman, president: Ralph Mitchell, vice- president, and Shirley Belle Merical as secretary- and treasurer. Ioyce Downing was elected cheerleader by the student body. We had our iirst semester party December 8, 1948. After inviting guests from various classes we entertained them by dancing and playing games. Candy, apples, popcorn, and pop were served as our refreshments. We were accompanied by our sponsor, Miss Leeper. We are very proud to have Billy Woolman, a football letterman, from our class. Billy is also on the basketball squad. Ralph Mitchell was one of the managers of the football squad. Ioyce Downing and Shirley Merical are on News Staff. Shirley Merical is also on Annual Staff. Those out for music are: Dawn Pontius, Mary Lou Spring, Shirley Reynolds, Doris Sneathen, Ada Coleman, Shirley Merical, Patricia Reynolds, Elaine Rolston, Patty Baker, Ioyce Downing, Romona Thompson, Larene Belew, Verna Dudley, and Lenora I-lodson, Iames Cochran, lames Mabbitt, Warren Shade, Darrell Cumpston, Wayne Aldrich, Richard Pitsenbarger, and George Chance. -22-
