CLASS HISTCRY Of the seniors who started to Redfield High School in the first grade of the year of 1937, ten remain to graduate together. They are Harvey Beane, Billy Forshier, Shirlie Harrison, Dona Keltner, Mary Lou Morris, Ronald Simpson, Richard Smeltzer, Darlene Thompson, Pauline Thompson, and Erma Wacht. Our first year we were guided by Miss Allen. Miss Sperow was our second grade teacher. Richard Bales joined us in our third year. Our teacher was Miss Aldrich. Miss Agan was our fourth grade teacher. In fifth grade we gained Carolyn Gibbons and Patty Dunbar. Miss Raber was our teacher. ' Miss Kirby was our sixth grade teacher. Miss Lepley was our seventh grade teacher. We were joined by Norman Rogers and Roger Martin that year. Mrs. Shaw was our eighth grade teacher. The green freshmen of '45 were joined by Kenneth Hogan, Howard Hoy, Wanda Huggins, Henry Kester, Patty Merical, Norma Miller and Laura Parker. Our sponsor was Mrs. Pontius. As sophomores we welcomed Edna Amann and Don Sloan. Our sponsor was Coach Huisrnan. In our junior year we completed the list with Max Carr and Darrell Duff. Our class sponsors were Miss Browne and Mrs. Wallert. Now after almost twelve long years of work and play we are nearing the long sought goal of education and yet many of us are almost sorry tc reach it. Our class sponsor for our last year is Coach Padilla. Mary Lou Morris leaves her ability to be heard to Rosella Kopaska. Darrell Duff bequeaths his manly tenor voice to Ioyce Downing. Darlene Cave, did you know that you are going to be a top typist? CLASS WILL We, the seniors of Redfield High School, class of '49, being of sound mind and body, do will and bequeath our following outstanding features to our under classmates, that they may use them to the best of their advantage. Billy Forshier, who was at one time the smallest boy in our class, does will and bequeath his big feet to Wayne Aldrich. Henry Kester and Max Carr leave their outstanding sales talk to the Iunior class. Leah Parker your dream for long hair has been answered, Edna Amann has consented to leave hers to you. Wanda Huggins does will and bequeath her beautiful alto voice to Ierry Freestone. At last someone is available who can use Harvey Beane's long forgotten energy, Iordan Kephart has been elected. Lois Stonehocker, did you know you are going to be tall? Dona Keltner is leaving you her height. Darlene Thompson wills her ability to blush to Iunior Crase. Hello Blondie, that's you Ianet Reynolds, Norma Miller is leaving you her blonde hair. Erma Wacht leaves her many pairs of glasses to Wendell Miller, just in case. Richard Zellers your unruly hair problem has been solved, Don Sloan is leaving you his well kept hair. A Shirlie Harrison leaves her ability to write True Romances to Harold Summy. Dick Bales, who has the ability always to get to school at exactly one minute before the bell, says Donna Towns may now have the privilege. The good looking fellow who has that manly physique and big broad shoulders is Richard Srneltzer, who now leaves them to big Iimmy Cochran. Bobbie Thompson, you lucky boy, Patty Merical has consented to leave you her natural curly hair if you won't let it get gray too fast. Donnie Mills your worries are over now, Laura Parker is giving you her good grades. Pauline Thompson leaves her seat in the back of the assembly by Darrell Stapes to Patty Lou Baker. Howard Hoy wills his southern drawl to Shirley Belle Merical. Carolyn Gibbons leaves her basketball days to the future teams of Red- field High School. Roger Martin leaves his way with women to Warren Brandstatter. Norman Rogers leaves his way to get good grades without studying to Ianice Wright. tContinued on next page.l -.18...

During the tirst semester Richard Kolp and Bernadine Thompson left. Robert Aldrich and Barton Perriqo joined us from Waukee, Olive Welton came from Earlham in November but left us in December. Darrell Stapes, Clyde Robison, and Maurice Pontius, lettered in football. Lena Mae Crase, Anna Mae Marlenee, Darrell Stapes, Maurice Pontius, Donald Mills are on the basketball squads. Out tor music are: Frances Altweqq, Lena Mae Crase, Ianice Wright, Darlene Cave, Donna Towns, Ioan Murphy, Anna Mae Marlenee, Iuanita Evans, Maurice Pontius, Iunior Crase, Donald Mills, Russel Starry, Glenn Aldrich, Fred Hurst, Richard Kolp, Barton Perriqo, Richard Zellers and Robert Aldrich.
