Sandra Engle, Senior, was awarded a S500 scholar ship to any college of her preference - for meriting second highest rating in Louisiana in the annual BETTY CROCKER CONTEST - Search for the Home- maker of Tomorrow. Over 300, 000 Senior girls participated in this contest sponsored by General Mills. Sandra's paper was among the top ten in the State to be considered. .11 Edward Shafer, Junior, is one of the four American teenagers chosen by the Junior Red Cross Officials to enjoy a four-week trip to Japan this summer - to participate in a Junior Red Cross study-visit program. Edward was chosen from a group of outstanding junior members for his community service, leader- ship ability, and Red Cross activities. After three days in San Francisco Edward will Hy to Japan via Hawaii to attend American Junior Red Cross training center at tiifu air base near Kyoto. Youths will study national intcriiatioiitil and coinmunitl service of tht- Junior Red Qross.
