The St. Louis Cathedral, built during the Spanish regime, is in the CCHICI. Un its ltft is the Cabiltlo, where the transfer of the Louisiana Territory from Frarzctf took place in 1903. On its right is the Presbytere, or priest house, which with the Cahildo now house the Louisiana State Museum. lhese buildings face Jackson Square, originally known as the Place d'Armes and form the heart of the old city.

1856 -vi. 1.1 ...1956 SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 Holy Mass celebrated in St. Alphonsus Church by Aux- iliary Bishop L. Caillouet, with Archbishop Rummel presiding in the sanctuary. MONDAY, DECEMBER 10 Very Rev. William Reintjes, C.Ss.R., Vice Provincial, offered a Solemn Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church in memory ofthe deceased Sisters. The sermon was preached by Rev. Maurice Kennedy, C.Ss.R. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12 Very Rev. Paul Baudry, C.Ss.R., Pastor, sang a Solemn High Mass for all alumni and alumnae of the parish schools. Rev. Donald Con- nor, Prefect of Redemptorist high school, preached the sermon.
