From there things reach one of the most feverish fever pitches ever crowded into one play. When Mr. Moore, the chairmen of the citizens' committee, and Del Marshall came for a visit, the girls mistook Mr. Marshall of hall so they for the county marshall, the state marshall, or at least some kind a mars , Bett L once again got into a huddle. They just knew that he was there to arrest Betty Lou. y ou was going to plead insanity, little brother Wilbur also was coaxed into acting balmy, and they even went so far as to prove that the entire family was nuts-and that included papa himself. When Lottie, took her job as the Nagels' maid, she thought the chaos caused by their spoiled infant Janice would end as the little darling grew up But, as Lottie says, she was wrong the Nagels never let Janice grow up At fifteen she is still coddled and pampered like a two year old Jerry Hughes, a nice boy of sixteen, knows this very well, but he can't help having a terrific crush on Janice, even though she treats him like a dog and makes him wish she'd fall for somebody herself and see how it is Then she does fail-and hard for Jess Pomeroy a handsome football player To make it complete, Jess takes no interest in her whatever, he YISS 8 81-P1 This 0811865 Janice to have the worst tantrum of her life and her parents to have a riot Jp till now, they've been able to go out and get her what she wanted, but this tantrum ca.n't be stopped Jerry is very happy. This will cure the brat. But his joy is short lived To his gm-prlse, he finds next day that Jess 18 playing right along w1th Janice He 1B most discouraged So is his pal Dave because he and Jerry are to play in a local tennis match tomorrow, and they'll never win with Jerry in such a state Dave decides something has to be done, and he soon finds out why Jess 18 so sweet on Janice It seems that Janice's parents are trying to buy her the man she wants, just as they ve bought her everything else since she was born This discovery is made at a party, and it results in a near riot which causes Janice to go into her worst tantrum ever, and also brings Jess and his real girl to a near break up Things are m a pretty sad state by the next morning, but Janice surprises everyone with a sudden change for the better and everything is straightened out beautifully.
