Betty Lou Hmcwell and Bernadine Smith are a couple of questions and problems rolled into tw It ms that they're always up to somthing. And there'e just no stopping them. Papa Oo S88 Maxwell had just been chosen as the new head of thc citizens' cammittee because he had one . . . . . Bett of the finest and most upstanding families :Ln the entire community. But it seems that y Lou and Bernadine had been wanting to write to Vester Blayne, who edits the love-lorn column in the local a ers. Of course they had no problem. And since they wanted to lf! e s desperate as possible, they said she was in love with a man forty-four years of age, who had hildren fourteen fifteen and nineteen and that she was frantic and knew where she could c get hold of a shot-gun. go they mailed their masterpiece, and waited 11131145-iCiD3tiOHf0T tle alled on Mama evening paper. But was their letter published? Noi Instead, Miss Blayne c Maxwell and unfolded the complete story of Betty I.-ou's 'sad plight. From there things reach one of the most feverish fever pitches ever crowded into one play. When Mr. Moore, the chairmen of the citizens' committee, and Del Marshall came for a visit, the girls mistook Mr. Marshall of hall so they for the county marshall, the state marshall, or at least some kind a mars , Bett L once again got into a huddle. They just knew that he was there to arrest Betty Lou. y ou was going to plead insanity, little brother Wilbur also was coaxed into acting balmy, and they even went so far as to prove that the entire family was nuts-and that included papa himself. From then. it was a complete free for all with all the trimmings. Things finally ended all right, but not before Mr, Moore's marriage was threatened and Wilbur ran away from home. Eek, a snake.
