A time to go, to learn again Somewhere else, at another place, The time is here, and it beckons us to depart What has been said here will be done today onward intc tomorrow. This place is dear to our hearts, For here the roots of our wisdom were encouraged tc grow, Yesterday is today's memory, and tomorrow is today's dream. We go and should ask not for favor or gift, Because we deserve not better than we create, Or anymore than we work for. Today as we stand on the threshold of life, We are saddened by the beautiful memories of the past, But it is 1ife's way that we go, With gladness in our hearts and a smile upon our face. X-I 51,1 lm W X 22 ,L ,-L, The fall of 1954-the most intelligent class ever to enter the first grade lbegan its twelve year journey of learning. Yeah, we were the most intelligent class, all right. How about the time we hid the teacher'spocketbook at the top of the slide. That's intelligence for you. As the years went by, we learned more and more and began to look for- ward to the time, now upon us. In junior High we began to learn about literature, science, and about how to think. Those were great years, filled with good times and many parties. Those were great years! lt's a wonder this building is still here after the Class of 'Q left it. We entered high school as timid young freshmen of the highest intelli- gence. Yeah, we certainly were timid all right. How about the time several members of our class rode a bicycle down the hall and into a classroom! We were intelligent too-like the time we nearly set fire to the science lab. A number of us were tapped into the Beta Club our Sophomore year. We also enjoyed the privilege of being upper classmen. As members of the Future Teachers of America, many of us learned what our very hardworking teachers have to go through. We did our hard work our junior year selling magazines, candy and working in the junior Booth. These experiences gave us two of our fondest memories-the Washington, New York trip and our tribute to the Seniors, SOUTH PACIFIC, our Junior-Senior Prom. Yes, those were times to remember. How could anyone forget all that Emil- work? And that Washington-New York Trip! How could anyone forget one of our intelligent classmates feeding the monkeys flash bulbs, and the song of appreciation that was sung to one of our fellow classmates, a nd all the other memories. Well, atleast we have reached a goal. We, forty-four determined Seniors jnow look VAWZ back over the years of learning and working together. These few short years willremain as lasting memories because they pre- pared us to be Grand Ole Seniors, 'Tw 23 .We MOST ATHLETIC Brenda McArthur, Ray Hill WITTIEST Kathy McMillan, Norman C CUTEST 'f S f BEST ALL AROUND Barbara Short, Allen Simpson reech . . .
