Six RR Wrestlers Qualify for State The varsity wrestling team, under the coaching of John Koppy, completed a fourteen-meet schedule with a 4-10 record. In the all city meet, Red River placed second, and in the Region II meet the team placed fourth, qualifying six team members for the state tournament at Bismarck. Those qualifying for state were Carter Passa, Kim Anderson, Fred Ferestad, Mark Waller, Tim Fingarson, and Ritz Sherman. Carter Passa placed second at the state. The JV squad, coached by Terry Burke, completed a 5-10 season. Coach Burke felt the squad had a good season record, especially considering the team was short two weight classes. Prospects for next year look bright as only one team member graduates and all six state entrants will be back.
