This admiration soon becomes a deep unquenchable love between Guenevere and Lancelot, that over the years only becomes more intense and deep. Although this truly immoral love is accepted by Arthur with the pretence that neither Lance or Jenny have deceived him or his court, others in the court are not as forgiving. The arrival of King Arthur's illegitimate son, Mordred, marks the beginning of the end of Arthur's rule and thus coming to power himself. Mordred convinces Aunt Nlorgen Le Fay, a fairy Queen who lives in an invisible castle, to lure Arthur there and detain him for the night. Mordred takes advantage of Arthur's absence and with several of the knights that he has invited against Arthur, exposes Lancelot and Guenevere as he catches them alone, intimate, and unprepared. charging them with treason. Lancelot escapes, but returns with men from his castle, the Joyous Guard, just in time to save Jenny from being burned at the stake. The result is obvious: an unwanted war, the destruction of the table, the destruction of a kingdom, the destruction of a man, but Arthur finds enough love deep in his heart to forgive them both. Arthur finds a young lad named Tom of Warwick who interupted his parting scene with Lance and Jenny, and Arthur knights the lad commanding him to return home to grow old and healthy and to always remember and tell people that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot. musical 35 Q10 few I
