Naming of Queen and Attendants Start Homecoming Activities Flip the Birds was the theme, the Pepananny was the event and with lVl.C.'s Deb Wassmund and Greg Opp leading the way, Homecoming '72 began. Following the school song were the class skits, with seniors taking the honors. Juniors won the sign contest and Sophomores were represented by Dale Lein who was honored with the Hoarsman Turkey Award. Jim Bollman interviewed Coach Kopp and PUD gave a brief performance. Then, climaxing the evening came the announcement of the royalty. A brief hush was followed by thunderous applause when Jill Hoberg was named Sophomore attendent, Karen Bell was chosen to represent the Juniors, and Laurie lVlcEnroe became Queen of Homecoming '72. The following day the royalty were presented to the student body and Dimensions of Soul per- formed. The highlight of the days came at 7:30 when Red River, claiming Riders are Rough and Red-y , crushed highly ranked James- town 28-6. At halftime co-chairman Lynn Torrance and Tim Cross were presented to the crowd. The coronation of the royalty was held with the traditional kiss by Mr. Knudsvig for Queen Laurie. The weekend was brought to a close Saturday night with the big dance. The first victory dance in three years, put the perfect and final touch on Homecoming 1972. A. Jim Bollmen interviews Coach Kopp at the Pepananny. B. M.C.'s at the Pepananny were Debbie Wassmund, and Greg Opp. C. The Seniors won the skit competition. D. Homecoming planning committee discusses plans and problems. E. Dennis Smalley cheers the Rider Victory over Jamestown. F. The Hoarsmen present a skit at the Homecoming Pep rally. G. A sock-hop in the commons followed the Pepananny. H. Atilla played for the Homecoming Victory Dance. 20 homecoming
