Computer Programming New Course in Math Department Math teachers at Red River are the leaders of the school's individualization. With a program that provides for complete flexibility of learning, the math teachers constantly respond to new challenges for individual growth. A new course offered by the math department this year is computer programming. The goal of this class is to teach a computer language-- BASIC--and to teach how to program and use the computer. Literature, Speech, Writing Make Up English Program At Red River, English means more than grammar. A- long with a minimum of basic grammar, the majority of the emphasis is placed on literature, ranging from early English writings to contemporary American li- terature, and writing and speech techniques and lm- provement. The department also offers electives in drama, journalism, and photography. Working to en- force concepts in these areas are eight teachers, work- ing in both flexible and structured programs. A.
