Milwaukee Trip Highlights Band Year The instrumental music and band program has developed immensely here since the opening of Red River. There are now two complete bands, the concert band and the wind ensemble, along with several organized ensembles. Elected officers this year were: President, Teri Hendrickson: Vice President, Dan Bryg Secretary, Elaine Hellemg Treasurer, Lori Holmgren: and Librarian and Pro- perty Manager, Wendall Brown. The band was pri- vileged this year in being selected as one of the performing groups for the MENC CMusic Educa- tors National Conventionj. Several money raising projects and much planning lead up to the four day tour and the climactic performance in Milwaukee. The band is very active throughout the regular year. with parades, ball games, and concerts. Orchestra Broadens Musical Background The Grand Forks high school orchestra is composed of students from Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. Under the direction of Jack Miller it performs with other Red River musical groups. Besides appear- ances in Grand Forks, the orchestra performed at Fargo schools this year.
