Dedicotion It is with deep pleasure that we dedicate the 1962 Pep to Mrs. Housrnan. Our training under her guidance in Journalism is put into practice through the edition of our school paper, The Acorn , which she has successfully sponsored for the past twelve years. After a lapse of many years, Quill and Scroll was revived under the sponsorship of Mrs. Housman three years ago. For two years she sponsored the TCC, a choral reading club that stemmed from a Remedial Reading class that was added to her already heavy English schedule. We are taught in her class to read and interpret American Literature. To aid us in a more thorough study, we delve into the periods of American history that we may appreciate the living conditions and trend of times that inspired writers of prose and poetry. For several years Mrs. Housman has included a study of vocations for English Ill students. Many of her students have become successful becausea wise teacher started them 'thinking about their futures in time to prepare for them. Mrs. Housman is a member of the Methodist Church, the Altrusa Club, and the AAUW. She spends most of her summer vacations working as cashier in the Houghton State Bank, where she proves that wise vocational planning provides a fuller, more rounded life. She has shown that good teachers practice what they teach. . .but wait. there is a teachers meeting at 8:15 .... 9 fir f . . .and a deadline to be met on The Acorn . . . 1w hs m5,g a.. -it Q , 1 ,.f,s,..
