s -LL- '-,-L - H J, .. - i sstf 5 After finishing fourth in the conference meet a year ago, Red Oak was expected to have a strong squad this year. This was based on the fact that underclassmen com - posed a great majority of the team, and last season 's freshmen-sophomore team was the conference meet winner. The Tigers were expected to be especially strong in the middle distances, with field events next in strength. These tracksters were prognosticated to be exceptional: Terry Wright, Leonard Kinser, Steve Simpson, Bob Smith, and John Breese. Wright, a year ago, set a new school record in the discus of 144' S . He also finished third in last year's decathlon. Kinser and Simpson were members of last year's mile relay team which also set a new school mark. Their time was 3:37. 9. Kinser finished first and Simpson seventh in the decathlon a year ago. Smith was a good half-miler last season and Breese excelled in the high jump.
