THANATOPSIS All that breathe Wlll share thy destlny The gay wlll laugh When thou art gone, the solemn brood f care Plod on, and each one as before w1ll chase H1s favorlte phantom, yet all these shall leave Thelr mlrth and thelr employments, and shall come And make thelr bed wlth thee Wllllam Cullen Bryant QAOKQQIQXMZIQSD Durlng the month of July ln the year of our Lord l952, a man, hls wlfe, and a few frlends spent several days camplng along the bank of a cool, spark llng stream The tlme came for them to go home, as lt eventually wlll for everyone he day was beautlful and when the long evenlng shadows were creeplng over the plcturesque, plne covered mountalns of Eastern Oklahoma, a flsherman was seen packlng hls equipment to go home He was not aware that he was pre parlng for such a long Journey The day was spent 1D enjoyment and happlness, as hls llfe was spent ln servlce and devotion As h1s traller was belng loaded, he stumbled, and down he came wlth the most serlous fall of h1s llfe From that lngury he never recovered Wlth the close of a beautlful day, came the dramatlc close of a wonder ful llfe Thls was Bentley B Ludden, a man hlghly respected and admlred by all who knew hlm He spent a llfe of servlce for hls church, hls famlly, h1s frlends, hls lodge, and hls communlty Hls lnfluence wlll llve on and on ln the llves of hls former puplls and frlends To know B B was to admlre hlm He served as teacher, prlnclpal, and superlntendent 1n our schools was a leader ln h1s church, worshlpful master of h1s lodge, worthy patron of Eastern Star, and upheld those thlngs whlch are for the betterment of soclety Yes, h1s llfe was one of servlce for others He lnsplred many to llve better and more useful llves At the close of a busy day thls flsherman came lnto camp seeklng rest and peace Yes, Bentley, lf man may be the Judge, you earned a place of rest and the comfortlng peace lS surely found ln that magnlflcent camp whlch was prepared by the Master Flsherman Certalnly you heard h1m say, WCome unto me and I wlll glve you rest N To the memory of our frlend, Bentley B Ludden, thls l953 Eagle 13 most humbly and slncerely dedlcated O O O C . . .
