What should I do? Where am I to go? There are so many questions - So much I want to know. I heeded its call and traveled my road. It was lined with beautiful colors - The red, blue, and golden days of my youth. As I experienced new meanings Imatured slowly - surely. I grew into more than just a child As I reached out to touch the people around me. I grew in S iritg its shining light sometimes dimmedp By shadows of the past. BUT I PROCRESSED! My path continues along its rugged course Like a never-ending battle fought I know that some day I should shall find my rainbow All Iife's colors ablaze. I'lI walk on unhesitatingly, lourneying through this life, Still holding in my hand, A little piece of each new day. The use of audio-visual equipment such as tapes, records, and maps help make the teaching- learning process pleasant and profitable. We can proudly boast that: 'l. El estudio de Espanol es muy importante. 2. Le Francais est une langue tres importante. 3. Studium Latinae est maximum. 4. Deutsch ist line wichtige interessante Sprache. IN ANGTHER PLACE AND TIME Bringing to students' attention the fact that many unique cultures exist in the world, and that they have played an important role in the development of our own culture, is the primary goal of our Social Studies program. As freshmen, we delve into a common heritage, that of American Cultures, examining the major social, political, historical, and cultural aspects that contributed to making our nation so great. Second-year study of World Cultures explores and compares the cultures of such foreign countries as Africa, China, and India, and teaches the relationship of our own American culture to them. A variety of course choices afford an ample opportunity for juniors and seniors to gain a better understanding of human relations, the intricacies of our own economy, the nature and reason for the existence of law, and possible solutions to common social problems. Through classroom lecture, group and panel discussion, we learn to formulate our own ideas independently, and to acquire learning techniques that will enable us to build-a more promising future. Teachers in Red Lion's mathematics department stress mental discipline and inductivefdeductive reasoning as fundamental to mastery of more sophisticated mathematical concepts. As freshman, we learn the language of numbers and variables - algebra. The study of geometry introduces sophomores to abstract ideas and concepts. Advanced algebra, trigonometry, math analysis, and calculus constitute a real challenge to juniors and seniors. These math offerings 'all l'add up to an invaluable learning experience and an excellent preparation for future careers. ,g...a-4- INVESTICATING AND EXPERIMENTINC A well-equipped science department at Red Lion provides us with courses intended to ,Q develop logical and intelligent thinking. We gain insight from past and present scientific discoveries, and learn to apply important principles to our everyday lives. We come to realize that everyone is affected by the physical law of gravity, the biological law of respiration, and the chemical law of boiling point. Facets of biology, from unicellular life to complex networks of human biology, are taught. Our knowledge of chemistry expands from atoms to complex compounds, while in the physical sciences we advance from density to vectors. Classroom lectures and laboratory experiments deepen our perception so that we learn to create our individual learning experiences. Whether separating sludge, dissecting a cat, or mixing copper choloride solutions, most students agree that scientific L4 study is challenging and demanding, lan Kehr David Kline Michael Kovvalik Paul Kuhn Music Science English History i Pat LaRussa Michael Leibhart Darrell Markley Fred Miller English Industrial Arts History Mathematics L M Hugh Miller Kathy Moser Scott Musselman lohn Myers German - Mathematics Physical Education Physical Education DOC Guy Naugle Sam Neff William Nyer Robin Ochterbeck Vocational Agriculture Mathematics Business Education Reading EVERYONE'S BUSINESS The Business Department offers students many courses for future careers, such as Typing, Stenography, Office Practice, Practical Math, and Accounting.
