LOOKI G B CK Looking back on our four years in Red Lion High School, we the class of ,77 have many happy memories to cherish in future years. Over the last four years, we have grown in many ways as we prepared our graduation. Timid and inexperienced, we entered the new and endless halls of the Senior High in the fall of 1973 under the leadership of John Rauma ipresidentl, Rod- ney Hake fvice-presidentl, Sheila Brady fsecretaryl, and Nancy Warner ftreas- urerl. As Freshmen, our first big event was Homecoming and the building of our first float SPIRIT for which we received honorable mention, despite the fact that the clutch burned out of the truck which pulled it, forcing us to push it through the streets. Also included in the Homecoming feastivities were the Fri- day night parade and pep rally, the crowning of Sue Gross as Homecoming Queen, and the Homecoming Game in which Red Lion beat Susquehannock 57-0. Our first year was full of new experiences, such as 50 minute class periods, pep assem- blies, and swimming classes. Some of these we enjoyed, others we didn't. In the Spring of the year, Sound of Music was performed and then June arrived, bringing the school year to a close. We returned in the fall as spirited Sophomores, guided by Sarah Challenger ipresidentj, Rozzi Applebaum ivice-presidentl, Rhonda Heindel Ksecretaryl, and Kathy Falvey ftreasurerl. Again we received honorable mention for our float Chop 'em Up! Leslie Olewiler was crowned Queen and the Lions 'Arolled over Dover with a score of 55-21. As Sophomores, we sat through Health and Safety Ed. classes, won the spirit stick several times, and took part in the musical Soutl Pacific. In the fall of '75, we returned to school and found that the lobby doors had been painted six different colors, the periods were only 47 minutes long, we had three lunch shifts instead of two, and we were now able to go to the Student Commons during study halls. Co-Ed. gym classes were introduced and we were able to choose our gym courses from a variety of activities, provided of course that we took swimming. For the third year in a row, we received honorable mention for our float 'tGotcha in the Lion's Jaws Homecoming Day saw Karen Flinchbaugh crowned as Queen and the Lions conquered the Vo-Tech Spartans 52-25. In No- vember, we presented our own class play Pillow Talk under the direction of Gloria Jean Nickol and in the spring took part in the musical t'Brigadoon. Our Junior year ended with the Junior-Senior Prom The Times of Your Life held at Wisehaven. Music was provided by Sounds Unlimited. The Class of '77 finished its school years under senior officers Sandy Thomas fpresidentl, John Rauma ivice-presidentl, Lori Keller isecretaryl, and Sandy Grove ftreasurerl. As Seniors, we placed second in the float contest with our entry Pack the Panthers, and on October 16, 1976, Deb Reichard was crowned Home- coming Queen. Red Lion lost a close battle to Central with a score of 3-6. Enter- tainment on Homecoming night was provided by The LaMott Trio. Since it was decided that we would not have a musical this year, the Senior Class pre- sented the play version of Annie Get Your Gun under the direction of Barbara Buffington. We closed our last year with the Cinderella Ball in which the girl asks the guy, the Junior-Senior Prom, Class Day, Baccalaureate, and the long awaited Commemcement. r ,V U I 2543, ,ll -.H-. 4. ,Y.-.
