In Memoriam Wm.. On Friday, April 14, a dark cloud passed over Red Lion, as a community learned of the pass- ing of Jeanette L. Espenshade, a business education teacher at Red Lion Area Senior High School. The community would long remember her as she was active in church, civic, and chari- ty affairs. A native of the Middletown-Hershey area, Miss Espenshade had spent 28 of her 31 teaching years at Red Lion. In 1966, the Red Lion Jaycees proudly acknowledged her community service, presenting her with the second annual Distinguished Citizen Award. Red Lion Area No. 9703 5-16-72 lm 7. Miss Espenshade headed the Red Lion March of Dimes campaign for the National Founda- tion, and also chaired various fundraising events for the past several years. She freely assisted with the United Fund, Cancer Society, and Heart Association fund drives. But her community service did not stop there. Having been a member of Grace Lutheran Church, she sang on the choir, taught Sunday School, and headed the Lutheran Church Wom- en. She was past president, past director, and recording secretary of District 7 Red Lion Busi- ness and Professional Women's Club. She gave tirelessly of her time and energy as director of the Kaltreider Memorial Library.

Avoid loud 81 aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spir- it. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain 84 bitter: for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. The chief characteristic of the typical Aquarian is his extraordinary broadness of vision. He is unbiased and open-minded, without prejudice or superstition of any kind. Tradition and authority leave him untouched. When he finds himself face to face with them, he regards them possibly with a certain friendliness and interest. His ways are neither militant or aggressive. He can wait, and the longer he waits, the more clearly he realizes the difficulty of attaining certainty about anything that is worth knowing. He is willing to learn from anyone, for the only thing of which he is sure is that he does not know very much. He is the finest possible type of scientist, the student of laws, patient, and untiring. The Aquarian has a way of looking at life's problems from the outside rather than from the center. Instead of trusting others, he studies them, observing their words and actions and if possible even their thoughts, earnestly, patiently, and carefully. lt also craves for personal and particular appreciation and attention. If they are of a jealous and exacting disposition, friend- ship with him will prove impossible. The strength of the typical Piscarian lies in his ideals and dreams rather than in his actions. He usually has little wordly ambition, cares nothing for rank or power, sel- dom succeeds in making money, and rarely accumulates it. Many people born un- der this sign are attracted to the cloister or shrink from society and from any compe- tition, rivalry, and strife. Many others go to sea, or spend available recreation time on a yacht or fishing boat, preferring the silent world of waters. With the vast ocean below and the star-spangled sky above, they rest content, calm and fearless. And yet it is difficult to say that any particular profession is impossible or unsuitable for a Pis- carian. The yearning for unity and the sense of completion carries many Pisceans onto the stage. This may to some extent prove trying but the actual work of interpre- tation always gives these people great delight. The true-born Piscarian generally learns sooner or later that all the world is a stage. Many Piscarians are fitted to enter the church, the army, and the navy, or to take employment in institutions such as hospital, universities, and colleges. Some are intellectual pioneers with abundance of energy and vitality, masterful, independent, and self-reliant. Their personality is forceful and original. They are captains, leaders, the pioneers among men. They are sometimes hampered by dif- fidence and shyness, but never by pessimism. Positions of authority and responsibili- ty will seem to fall naturally to the native's lot. ln some cases he will be militant, qomineering, intolerant ot opposition or contradiction, hard and unyielding. Ihe combination increases self-esteem and independence. Troubles follow impulsive actions and rash conduct. There is a tendency to live too much in the mind and some danger of becoming too self-centered or conceited. Tranquility and serenity are seldom appreciated at their true value by this type and still more seldom achieved, but Arietians are delightfully refreshing to meet, for they are bright and lively in society, and a boom to all who desire help in housing public interest in their social and charitable undertakings. Other and very different types of humanity may excel in planning details and in organization, but without efficient aid from the Ar- ientians, the most desirable projects often make little headway, and the best-laid schemes fall to the ground.
