FOREWORD As we seniors are about to take a place in society, we are very concerned about the unrest within our country and about the un- rest within our world. Peace between and within countries must rest on the love between its citizens, for they are the country, they hold the nation together. Peace can only be achieved through under- standing our fellowmen, through self-sacrifice, through faith, through respect, and through love. We realize the solutions for peace are not easy to attain, but as we attempt these solutions, let us remem- ber the words of Herbert Hoover, Peace is not made at the coun- cil tables, or by treaties, but in the hearts of men. Clair A. Frits The Senior Class proudly dedicates the 1971 Lion to Mr. Clair A. Frits who has devoted forty-one years to Red Lion students. Having received his degree in 1929 from Grove City, Nlr. Frits began his teaching career at Nlonongahela School. He was also employed for a short time by the indiana High School of Penn- sylvania. Mr. Frits came to Red Lion in 1931 and held a teach- ing position until August 1942. During these years he also re- ceived his Master of Education Degree from Pennsylvania State University. After a temporary stay at the Red Lion Tool and En- gineering Company, he returned to Red Lion High School and has remained with us from September 1943. Mr, Frits has served Red Lion in many capacities. He now teaches political science and sociology and serves as the history department chairman, a position he has held for several years. ln past years Mr. Frits has also served as Junior High Basket- ball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. He has also helpedl prepare Commencement speeches. After many years of devotion to the teaching profession, stu- dents have continually chosen Mr. Frits as their favorite teacher. ln gratitude for his forty-one years of service, the Senior Class is indeed honored to dedicate the 1971 Lion to Clair Frits . . . our favorite teacher.
