As October came around the students of Red Lion began to prepare for Home- coming. Weeks were spent in construct- ing floats and in getting ready for the dance. October 23 saw the annual Homecoming parade and pep rally where the candidates for queen were introduced and the winners of the float competition were announced. The sopho- mores with their float entitled Leave 'Em Defenseless won first prize. The next day the fighting Lions took on the Trojans of York Suburban in a tough battle in which Red Lion proved to be the better of the two teams by shutting out Suburban 17-O. Before the game, the moment everyone was waiting for arrived, and the Homecoming Queen Cynthia Winter was crowned. Finally Homecoming weekend 1970 came to an end with a dance where the queen and her court reigned. Curse You Trojans by the Senior class won honorable mention C131 RQQ Whip the Trojans won Second prize for the Juniors. ..-of For their hard work, the Sophomores were rewarded with First Prize. No play could avoid being a success when the entire cast immersed themselves completely in the production. And when the plot of the play emerged as a discussion of racial prejudices, the play just couldn't miss. With such a fabu- lous cast and such an entertaining plot, this play was bound to be a success. The dedicated cast occasionally collided with the director, but flying through speed rehearsals, warm-up exer- cises, last minute entrances, and fast costume changes, they hammered out an agreement, our play The Family Nobody Wanted. The love story of Donny and Nan, the prejudice of the two Johnsons about their daughter's marriage, all the conflicts of the play, the cast showed as they saw. They hope they succeeded in bringing across a good play. l FRONT ROW: Jim Newcomer, Thelma Evans, Rachel Nlundis, Dave Lawson. SECOND ROW: Bonnie Schwartz, Paul Renn, Barb Smith.
