Fl F8195 On June 4, 1970, commencement exercises were held and another group of seniors, full of hopes and dreams, went out to face the world with much ambition and vigor. They were so eager to start their life out of school and to be completely on their own . . . to have their freedom of choice in many areas. They now had their opportunity to begin their life in society. Their future plans were many and varied. With these thoughts in mind, Paul Brant, senior class president, gave the welcoming address, and Jim Loyer spoke on the topic The Seventies - What's in Store? The main speaker was lVlr. Salom Rizk who spoke on the topic America is More than a Coun- try. The honor students were then rec- ognized by Mr. Fitzkee, and to con- clude the program, Mr. Donald Snyder and Mr. Arden Blain presented the 1970 graduates with their diplomas . . . their passports to a new world. Sometime in the month of lVlay, Juniors and Seniors deck themselves with formal attire and attend one of the biggest highlights of the year, the Ju- nior-Senior Prom. Southern Enchantment was the theme of the 1969-70 prom with deco- rations and atmosphere of the Southern hospitality. Every- one enjoyed socializing with their classmates and faculty while dancing to the music of the Bill Collins Orchestra. Following the dance, an all night party was held in the lobby and auditorium. Special entertainment was provided by D. K. Ernst who held everyone in a trance by exhibiting his skill of hypnotism. All too soon the evening came to a close: and the tired, weary, but happy Juniors and Seniors looked forward to the upcoming year and once again the prom.
