The knowledge gained by the commercial students to- day will equip the business world of tomorrow with eflicient, skillful workers. Generally the Commercial De- partment prepares the student to go directly from high school to a position in business. Among the commercial courses offered are typing, bookkeeping, shorthand, business English, transcription, and otlice practice. Provid- ing the practical knowledge that the students will need in their future positions, these courses are ideal for today's world. While the fine arts give the student a chance to express himself, driver education provides the opportunity for the student to increase his amount of freedom in our society. In the fine arts classes, the student is encouraged to formu- late his own ideas, designs, and arrangements. Perhaps this stimulation of the student's artistic ability will give him the urge to make a career of his particular art. Driver edu- cation produces safe, well-educated drivers for our high- ways. By utilizing the privilege to drive an automobile, the student finds that he is now more independent of other people than ever before. The growth seen in both 'of these areas each year proves that a knowledge of them is be- coming increasingly important to our society.
