Although we may not realize it, these are some of the best friends we willever have. If we think hard enough, all of us can remember the time when a word of encouragement from a teacher meant the difference between being just so-so or attain- ing a coveted goal. Because they are sometimes quick to scold us when we do wrong, we tend to forget they are nearly always among the first to commend us when we do something well. Whether rubbing elbows, racking brains, or raring to go, students share many memorable moments with these friendly advisors. 7
