MARY FARLLINO, CLIFFORD GUNNIETT, DOROTHY Bowlzas, MARIIS KMQPORTS The Senior Class made its debut February 5, 6, 7, 19-12, with the Presentation of the three act comedy, Don't Take My Penny. The fascinating plot centered about the young girl, Penny Pringle, portrayed by Helen Breneman, and Robert Martin as Kerry Harper. Many were the laughs and cheers as the audience listened to Penny's dreams of Hollywood. These reveries caused many problems and predicaments for her friends, but finally everything was settled and there was a perfect ending for a perfect day. The following year on November 19, 20, 21, the class again proved its ability by producing a timely play, American Passport. The theme depicted a modern Ameri- can home with all the problems of the average father who suddenly realizes his children are not good Americans, but dehnite Leftists. Changing the radical viewpoints of his offspring is the father's patriotic problem. Mr. Hamilton, characterized by Harold Grim, becomes infuriated when his shallow-minded wife Bertha, portrayed by Gladys Flinch- baugh, circulates a petition to keep American boys from going to war. The father realizes he has been standing idle while his own children are helping to undermine Democracy. He revolts, and in a rousing speech lets his family and his neighbors know just what he thinks of radicals and communists. After having made a stirring speech, Mr. Hamilton is nominated for Congress and his family returns to the fold of real Americans. Aviation in High School has been the result of a demand by the boys of the Senior Class for elemen- tary knowledge in aviation. Those who successfully pass this work are given examinations to qualify for flight training without further ground instructions. A visit to the class room any morning will hear discus- sion on air foils, dynamic lift, zero angle of attack, etc., demonstration of model planes in the wind tunnel, experiments with the venturi tube and mathematical problems foreign to any except aviators. Witli an early start such as these boys are getting, they should go a long way in aviation. PERSGNNEL GEORGE ALWOOD GERALD CLEWELL DALE CRALFY lfI.XY'O0D DIIZHI. At the beginning of the season we were fearful because we had lost several stars through graduation. However, with the dependable players of former years-R. Burke, Clewell, Craley, Goldman, Howard, Miller, Ritz, Smeltzer, Snyder, Stump, Tschop, Wag- man, and two newcomers, Rexroth and Stine-it was plainly seen there would be a pros- perous season in the ofhng. We opened the season with Lemoyne handing us a 15-O setback. Nevertheless, un- daunted, we accumulated enough A stamps to play the York High Reserves on their own field. Here Lady Luck brought us victory and she remained with us as we tri- umphed over Elizabethtown and Biglerville. Our next engagement was with Ephrata, and the contest proved quite exciting as the game came to a close with our opponents gaining the victory by one point. The tables were reversed, however, when we were successful at York Catholic. This victory was soon offset when New Cumberland gave us our third and last defeat of the season. Our successful season ended when we overwhelmingly defeated our old rival West York.
