The staff hopes to express its pleasant memories at Red Jacket as a football game. Although foot- ball is a relatively new sport, we feel it is a typical representation of life. f .gy X-5 ff 95 ff' 7 X Jie K W TABLE OF CONTENTS 655117 4 4 'xQ ADMINISTRATION X p. 5-10 f Xin? Mr. Schaertl came to Redlacket to teach in 1955 and capably took over the Junior High Math department. He also became our football coach. With his patience and guidance he produced a fine team. He is well liked by both students and townspeople. He makes his home in Shortsville withhis wife, two daugh- ters and new son. During the summer he works as a mason. We sincerely wish him good luck in the future and success with his own football squad. MR. GEORGE SCHAERTL Pride and Joy! Just exercise! No place like home First row: L. Wright, J. Hudson, M. Publicity for team activities in its broadest sense is the project of the Trail Staff composed of 14 members from the Senior Class assisted by Mrs. Ruth Lamphier and Miss Mary Arnold. The staff was represented at the Empire State School Press Association Conference in Syracuse, New York, by Patricia Crowther, Monica Boardman, Nancy Boardman, and Mrs. Lamphier. This conference enables the high school students to become acquainted with some of the important aspects of journalism and provides a brief, but inspiring, opportunity to absorb a bit of college atmosphere. It is through their tireless efforts that our school is able to provide the educational program for all the boys and girls of our district. A great deal of thanks is due these gentlemen for unselfishly giving of their time in the interests of the education of our youth. OUR PRINCIPAL OUR SUPERIN TEN DEN T Mr. John E. Loveless is our District Superintendent of Schools. He acts very capably as a liason between our school and the State Education Depart ment ir1 Albany. His duties are many and varied, and his supervision covers three other schools in addition to Red Jacket. No matter how busy Mr. Love less may be with the problems of the four schools, he always seems to find time to help us with our reports, financial problems interpretation of Educa tion Department laws and requirements, and the many other demands we make upon his time. Our principal, Mr. Neil J. Harkenrider, is a very busy man carrying out his many duties. How- ever, he always has time to think of his students, their problems, and ways in which to better Red Jacket. We, the Class of '57 . wish to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude for the guidance Mr. Harkenrider has given us. Our Vice- principal, Mr. Harold C. Contant, is always busy managing the school's OUR VICE PRINCIPAL financial affairs. He also shares many administrative duties. .We would like to give Mr. Contant special thanks for guiding and advising us throughout our senior year. M. iw? ,, ggi. FL. fm .W .,. Our Tag Day was the biggest single money making project to sponsor this Uip. We also participated in an exchange con- cert with Phelps. We have given four concerts throughout the year as well as playing at contest. Our pep band which plays at all assemblies has been very active this year. Officers: Pat Crowther, Presidentg Nancy Warfield, Vice Presidentg and Jean Draper, Secretary and Treasurer. Mr. Anzalone has contributed a great deal of time in making this year a suc- cess for our band, and in broadening our musical experiences.
