The Girls ' Athletic Association is an elected organization drawn from girls, grades 9-12, who praticipate in intra- murals. These girls are responsible for arranging dates and organizing equipment for the games. Intramural sports open to high school girls include soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, field hockey, swimming, and bowling. These games are designed to promote better sportsmanship among the girls at R.C.C. S. The Outing Club teaches students the fundamentals of outdoor living. This group of students takes trips to the Adirondacks in the fall and spring of the year and various other trips during the year, accompanied by their advisor Virginia Westerman and president Don Dawson. The French Club, which was organized this year, was formed to promote an understanding of the French language and culture. The club has sponsored several bake sales this year in working toward a goal of sending next year ' s Seniors to Monacal. Spanish Club Under the supervision of Mis. Mildred Stevens, the Spanish Club members increase their knowledge of the cultural, linguistic, and historical aspects of Spain and other Spanish- speaking countries. F.N.A. F.N. A. stands for Future Nurses of America. This group of girls is under the leadership of Mrs. Beny O ' Bryan. This club is for anyone interested in becoming a nurse. The Future Teachers of America was formed to foster an interest in and develop a knowledge of the teaching profession in all students in grades 9-12. Discussions are held at the meetings, held every two weeks under the advisorship of Mrs. Rickard and President Virginia Caywood, and trips are taken to nearby colleges and special schools to get first hand information. The club sponsors an annual Halloween dance and present gifts to the faculty at Christmas and on Teachers Recognition Day. 65
