Our Board of Education, headed by President Bernard Craine, is a body of seven members, elected by the voters, whose job it is to run the school district in all phases. This includes determination of policy, the economic and room squeeze that we are now in and trying to provide the best program available to student! at R.C.C.S. L. to R.: Mrs. Grace Frost, Clerk; Bernard Craine, President; Robert Brundldge; Leon Fitch; Clarence Cooper; Melville Warford; Robert Burghdorf; Delores VanWie, This year Wayne County schools saw a new face. Taking the place of Mr. Morris Livingston, who retired after many years of service to the county schools, is Mr. John Loveless, He is filling this position until a decision is made by the State Education Department to keep Wayne County as a separate unit or merge it with neighboring districts in other counties. Mr. Loveless is the District Superintendent of the Ontario-Seneca- Yates District and he is in charge of the B.O.C.E.S. for those counties in addition to maintaining the Wayne program. He has served as a teacher, guidance counselor and high school principal. He attended Colgate University and received his Master ' s Degree from Albany State. Mr. Loveless and his family reside in Clifton Springs where he is active in church work. Rotary and Masons. His chief hobby is gardening. MR. JOHN LOVELESS Superintendent 25

RALPH D, DeMAS RICHARD F. WITTER NORA S. DeMAS LOUIS R. RODER Our Supervising Principal at R.C,C.S. is Mr. Ralph DeMas. Besides his numerous and varying duties as Principal, Mr. DeMas takes an active interest in the Outing Club at R.C.C.S. His hobbies include camping, and running his snowmobile. No matter how busy he is, Mr. DeMas ' door is always open to listen to anyone with a problem. Mr, Richard Witter, High School Principal, joined the staff in February 1969, He has the task of running a sometimes delicate operation. He performs his task admirably - working with both faculty members and students. While maintaining discipline in the High School, Mr. Witter also is shown respect - an essential element for the success of any business organization. As Director of Guidance, Mrs, Nora S, DeMas is constantly at work. However, no matter what she is doing Mrs. DeMas is always ready to help a student with a problem. In addition to helping students choose courses for the coming year she aids members of the Senior Class in selection of colleges and selection of jobs. She also serves in the preparation of the school schedule and other numerous duties. One of her chief hobbies is camping. Mr. Louis Roder, District Business Manager, also joined the staff in February 1969. Since that time he has filled this position very capably. He is in charge of transportation, cafeteria services at -all schools, and ordering and purchasing of supplies. If a student gets stranded at school due to practice for an upcoming event the Business Office and tra nsportation staff see that he gets home safely. 24
