Zke 1969 Cereis A tribute to Our Greek. heritage The rich cultural legacy has so influenced our lives today that probably no other people has been more significant in the course of man’s intellectual history. We of the Cercis, in recognition of the Greek Heritage alive in our thoughts and actions today, wish to pay tribute to those ancients, long- dead yet undying. The Greeks gave the world their purity and grace, their ease and joy of life, their physical beauty, their intellectual fire, and their sense of the dignity of man in the universe; and yet they gave far more. They gave us a way of life which we have largely followed, often without realizing that we were treading in their footsteps. They were the superb builders of a civilization which has endured so long that we are in danger of forgetting that they are our parents. They thought the thoughts we are still thinking, and dreamed the dreams we are still dreaming. Their’s is the light we burn and will continue to burn as long as man continues to use powers of the intellect. We are proud to be Greeks.
