JUNIOR PLAY BOLTS AND NUTS Directed by Mr. George Lochner When the masterful Miss Rebecca Bolt, whose hobby is psychoanalysis, inherits a spooky old mansion from an eccentric brother, she turns it into a sanitarium for patients with phobias and nervous diseases, much to the dismay of her niece, Benita. Whereupon, the nuts start to pour in, and the fun begins in earnest. Lutie Spinks, the man-hating maid, has a nervous habit of winding that gets her into trouble with flirtatious men patients. Gertie Glossop has a contagion-phobia and all but asphyxiates everybody else with her various spraying machines. Complications multiply as Rebecca searches for her deceased brother's money, which he has left hidden about the house, providing in a freak will that a portion of it is to go to anyone who happens to find it. It soon becomes apparent that most of the patients are faking their various phobias in order to search for it. Its final discovery, through the ingenuity of Twink Starr, Benitaâs young man, forms a fitting climax for this fast-moving farce of many laughs. Benita Bolt, Eileen Voss; Rebecca Bolt, Ann Burgdorf; Lutie Spinks, Sharon Trammell; Martha Grubb, Lola Heine; Twink Starr, John Raffl; Dr. Hippocrates Joy, Fred Spitz; Henry Goober, Charles Vogt; Phineas Plunkett, Earl Wilson; Miss Prunella Figg, Joyce Seymour; Cadwalleder Clippy, Robert Roth; Mrs. Gertie Glossop, Betty Braun; Wilbur Glossop, Vernon Voges; Jack Gordon, Carl Braun. SENIOR PLAY KEEP MOVING Directed by Mr. George Lochner If the audience can keep from laughing a single moment during this fast moving enjoyable comedy, it will be that they are hard of hearing. . .or else have no funny bones. Trouble starts when unwanted trombone playing Professor Randolph arrives at the Baldwin home and announces that he intends to stay the entire summer. He isnât such a bad fellow, but that horrid moaning trombone (which is never heard during the play) is enough to drive - well, it practically did drive Mr. Baldwin into a nervous breakdown the summer before, and he has been away in the mountain ever since, try- ing to recover. Now he is coming back and wants to find his house peaceful and quiet, that is, he thought it would be, until the Professor arrived for his second summer. To make matters worse, in comes Rush Harris who brings with him three big reasons for gray hairs to pop up in everyoneâs head. To begin with, he is running away from some- one, or something, and everyone expects the police to break in any minute. On top of that, he is inventing a new type of motor fuel called Liquid Power and immediately takes over the house for a laboratory. When the Professor accidentally drinks some of Rushâs powerful invention, the resulting explosion will keep your audience laughing for weeks. Ann Baldwin, Maureen McCarthy; June Harris, Susan Frick; Rush Harris, Charles Mudd; Tom Jefferey, Roland Stiebol; Douglas Wells, Bill Barr; Professor Edmund Enoch Randolph, Paul Sturm; Harriet Mason, Linda Doiron; Emma Knight, Eileen Liefer; Lorretta Philips, Janet McIntyre; Charity Lynn, Jean Steffey; Sam Vine, Carl Rieke. Commander Paul Sturm, United States Space Corps, calling Red Bud, Illinois, through New York Central Space Station. New York Central Station. Eileen Liefer, secretary to John Nicholson, United States Space Corps, president speaking. Over. Jerry Melliere, St. Louis Space Control Manager, speaking. Over.â Red Bud High School. Arthur N. Trammell speaking. Paul Sturm reporting that the census of the class of 1957 is completed. Ro- tating around the earth, I have learned the following: William Bahr is busy at work in Scotland Yard as chief detective. Madame Fifi, Laura Brewer, has become famous for her hair design, the Crew-tail, a crew cut on one side and a pony tail on the other. Shelba Brown was recently in Chicago receiving a citation for her capable management of the Brookdale Orphanage. Edward Burgdorf has retained his love for drag racing and has just won the Indianapolis Speed Race of 1967. It seems the senior candy sales have had an effect on the futures of Mari- lyn Burmeister and Loretta Hentis, who are now cigarette girls at the Golden Nugget Gambling Casino. Robert Dannenbrink, pitcher for the New York Yankees, made headlines when he struck out twenty Dodgers in a World Series game. Professor Judith Dearworth, head of the Spanish Department at the Uni- versity of Illinois, has just completed a new Spanish textbook for high school students. Barbara De Luca was found conducting her daily television program, The Kiddie Corner. Rodney Dinges, track star, is now practicing for the Olympics. Rodney got his start when some track scouts spotted him in the role of one of the young shepherds sprinting up to the stage in the Red Bud Christmas Pageant of 1956. Rolling Rockets, a dance trio, composed of Maureen McCarthy, Hazel Reed, and David Doiron, is enjoying a long stay at the famous Copocabana Club in New York City. In Atlanta, Georgia, we find Linda Doiron, who has just won the crown of Miss Universe after competing with many beautiful contestants. Betty Dueker is employed as secretary to the vice president of a Licorice Company in St. Louis. Although Karen Eggerding's profession is musical therapy, she has just created the new color sensation, lemon-drop-pink. Betty Ehret is now employed as secretary to the Governor of Illinois. Eugene Fadler is representing the State of Illinois in the United States Senate. Doctors Susan Frick and Ralph Kuhlman are working on a serum for pink- eye. Patsy Gibbar has designed a new gadget for band uniforms, hats with re- mote controlled brow-moppers for those hot parades. Glennon Goetting has just finished his third novel with the original title CHEAPER BY THE SCORE. Another of the class of '57, Rosalie Greathouse, has won fame for design- ing a picnic basket for space outings. Albert Gregson, test pilot, was interviewed at the Nevada Proving Grounds after his successful attempt to reach Venus. Lorraine Guebert receives twelve thousand dollars a year as television's top critic. Roland Steibel and Firmin Hanebutt have combined their talents and organ- ized a famous jazz band, the Steibells.
