This year the J.V. Volleyball team added a lot of spunk to the Spartanland spikers. The team prac- ticed every day after school and learned skills quick- ly which allowed them to achieve a more advanced offense. The Varsity team helped the J.V. s and even worked with them on their offense. Coach Howard commented We had a very good very well together and for the most part had good attitudes. I was very pleased with how well they progressed and they came along a lot quicker and further than I had anticipated early in the season. Awards: MVP-Teresa Garcia Most Inspirational Player-Chari Sulzer. Spartanland s Frosh Volleyball team spiked with spirit. Every day from 3.30 to 5:30 they practiced after school under the coaching of Jeanne Utter- back. This year every Frosh spiker earned her letter. Jim Dreier summed it up when he said lt has been a pretty disappointing season overall but everyone on the team knows we could have done much much better. Our 6-I5 record should be turned around. I know our team took some flak but in my opinion we could of used a little more support and a lot less criticism. By the way the cheerleaders did an outstanding job during the season. John Wheeler, who had to quit because of medical reasons gave the team support for most of the season. Most Valuable Player was Tom Lengtat and Jim Dreier was Most Inspirational.
