PRINCIPAL MR. WILLARD BROWNING This year we welcome an old friend as our new principal: Mr. Willard Browning. Before coming to Red Bank, Mr. Browning taught science and English in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and chemistry and physics in Haddonfield, New Jersey. In 1945 he started teaching eighth and ninth grade general science in the Branch Avenue junior high. After serving two years in Korea and returning to teach chem- istry, Mr. Browning was appointed vice- principal in 1954, and has served in that capa- city under four different principals. In addition he was also in charge of curriculum since 1960 and was acting principal during 1966-1967. Mr. Browning, who describes himself as “easygoing ’ keeps in touch with and concerns himself with the student body. He firmly be- lieves that once a job is started it must be car- ried through to completion. He encourages student activities on the basis that we will “get more out of high school and become better citizens.” We welcome you, Mr. Browning, as our principal and our friend. 9
