The year also commemorated his tenth year serving as Monsignor at Saint James Parish in Red Bank. Monsi- gnor Valentino is a diligent worker who puts forth strong efforts to make Saint James Parish a great one. Aside from his parish duties, Monsignor willingly devotes great amounts of time and energy to Red Bank Catholic High School, Saint James Grammar School, and the Parent Teacher Organization. A special relationship exists between Monsignor and the students, and the faculty of Red Bank Catholic. In addi- tion to the numerous contributions which he has already made to Red Bank Catholic, Monsignor has many future plans for our high school. A few plans relating to the near future include the construction of a sports complex and a new library. We would like to congratulate and thank Monsignor Va- lentino for his years of devoted service to God, to his parish, and to Red Bank Catho- lic High School. l 4 ...Q- The past four years at Red Bank Catholic have shown much profit, whether in short term dividends, such as a Homecoming Victory, or long term benefits such as our high school diplomas. Each Casey invested his time and energy differently and in assessing our capital gains, each will find his different. Surely the athlete's aims and objectives differed from those of the total scholar. However diverse in our interests, we all hold the esteem the common bonds of our faith, our friendship, and our fun! We learned that through individuality we can better the whole. 4 ffl M T' M fv gf I fm' Y T -A' 'Y' '1 'p if . V fr vi -fi., .,, .,,' f 5, N 'A ' . 3' I . e ,N J K 'uf Cooperation between faculty and students yielded high earnings not only scholastically but socially as well. This was exemplified by such successes as the RBC for African dance marathon. Togetherness taught us that time is the most valuable commodity we possess. Students, parents and teachers alike, we are all shareholders in the future. Not only have we grown in the four years, but our investments at Red Bank Catholic will continue to earn interest as they mature year after year. V: 1 . Arriving in elegant gowns and debonair tuxedos, it was hard to be- lieve we were onlyjuniors in high school. The minute the music began to play, our secret was out, and our youth shown through. The dancing ceased only once for the crowning of our king, John Kee- gan, and our queen, Margaret Marrin. Thanks to the cooperation among the Student Council, the Administration, and all who attended, the evening was a total success. The Junior Prom of 1985 gave us a memory we will never forget. s--y twwwfl, gg 1, g f 1 ,, ,Q E 3 Q - A . -'ff f-fk 1? fwwk M, as gr aipiifi-9 Q, f' x A ,. Seniors shed their green and plaid and donned their floral print. Grass skirts and colorful leis speckled the B.S.A. at what has now become the annual Senior Luau. Beach Boys' music and surfing paraphernalia created an atmosphere that truly was Hawaiian. Laughter, dancing, and shouting abounded as Tom Williams and Alida Coo swept away first prize in the costume contest. The back-bending limbo dance created an unprecedented comradery amongst all who participated. A great way to begin the year, the 1985 luau was a successful event, and is sure to continue in the years to come. President Lisa Abbatiello, Vice-President Greg O'Keefe, SecretaryfTreasurer L. Ame- changelo and Committee Chairperson Ca- sey Taylor, displayed excellent leadership qualities all year. With the support and aid of the freshman moderator, Mrs. Joan Ed- monds, they conducted many successful events including the record-breaking can- food drive for the Thanksgiving holiday. It is indeed a difficult task to organize events and produce effective results with a large, new class of freshmen, however, this coun- cil came through with flying colors and guided their class through an important year. 106 ai: f ' ,v'Ix'3 t i-:Li QE' 'Keefe, Leighann Amechangelo, Casey Taylor, Lisa Abbatiello U7 Freshman at large! ,Xa A 108 li' U M 1 WZFS ,ywiiv , r-f ' . Officers Bill Leon, Pam Cerchio, Deidre Stamos and Leigh Doninger have planned an assembly during the prom season with Hector DeVall as the guest speaker. SADD also set up a booth, which featured facts about drinking and driving, in December 1985 at the Monmouth Mall. ll3 Helping Hand Although many of us are Catholic, sometimes we may not live up to our Christian duties. Members of the L.I.F.E. Club choose to truly give of themselves in activities such as food drives a tii for the poor and gifts for the lonely. The members of L.I.F.E., under the direction of Sister Regina, set an example for other members of the R.B.C. community. Members of the CPR! First Aid Club dedicate many hours in order to learn the various lifesaving techniques. After learning the necessary procedures in the event of an emergency, these students, under the supervision of Mr. Baglivio, receive a certificate of the completion of the course. ll4 Art Services, under the direction of Mrs. Kennedy, provides the Casey community with their creative talents by taking on endeavors of artistic value for the school. The members of this club draw attention to important events of the school through their art work by making posters, program covers, and handouts. The Forensics Team, moderated by Miss King and Miss Bauer, has done well in the past, and this year has been no exception. With Meg Andrews as President and Francie Centofante as Vice-President, this yearis team has become very strong. The team has competed in tournaments in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Much time has been invested in the tournaments, which take place from 8AM to 5PM. Congratulations on an outstanding year. 115 Under Mr. Cross' guidance, the members of the Sports Appreciation Club meet during activity periods for some intramural action. AIDS while RBC plunged into the fitness craze. We crooned over the brat pack and Madonna, as we donned black lace, moussed our hair, and doubled-pierced our ears. We went back in time with the return of the crew cut and bobbed hair, and blasted into the future with the Uranus Sattelite. We mar- veled over the Bearis Super Bowl shuffle as we celebrated our own champions of Hacky- Sack. We experienced many changes these four years, within ourselves and in the world around us. Our investment at Red Bank Catholic remained secure and our interest accumulated. We feel as though we have experienced it all - but more importantly we have experienced it together.
