Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.” M. L. Haskins Strong hands can do many things —protect, work, play. In innumerable ways, they can help man and glorify God. But hands can only be truly strong when they are strong with the strength of God. When we came to Alma Mater, she put our eager, anx- ious hands into the hands of God. Then she taught us to pray and work and play. These hands of the Class of 1957 have fon- dled rosaries, grasped pigskins, leafed through books, exam- ined specimens, made the Sign of the Cross, claimed trophies with that reverence born of Catholic education. Now, in a final embrace, we clasp Alma Mater to our hearts with those same hands made strong with her ideals. We leave her, but we take her spirit into a world which has no hope. We go out into the darkness knowing that, some- how, our hands in His will make the future trust in us -its youth.
