Now at parting time, we like to dare believe that our beloved Alma Mater, Red Bank Catholic High School, is a part of heaven itself: that we have trod a pathway to the stars and lived and worked and played by the strength of their brilliance: that we have only to reach out our hand to find in our teachers and in one another, new and brighter stars revealing God's wondrous light. So. we have made of our EMERALD, a star- studded jewel that will shine in our memories as a silent messenger sent by God to direct each individ- ual senior of the Class of l953 to be always ready, like the Magi of old, to leave his earthly kingdom and journey by light of the star to the heaven where Jesus, Mary and Joseph are. 4 ws .Wa ,Q 2 'T if ' . ., imfrlf 'N 5 Q . .-:az , A-,fs f in V . , - 7 . . 7 wwf :Q ' . At the dawning of our high school life, there appeared in the heavens above us a brilliant Star, fashioned by the Lord God of Love to brighten the way ofthe Class of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-three. Clad in the radiant blue of heaven itself, with a jeweled diadern upon Her brow and a silver Sceptre in her frail, white hand, Our Blessed Lady of Light became for each of us the symbol of a lively Faith, firm Hope, and ardent Love, When the troubling doubts of youth assailed us, we had only to look up beseechingly to feel the warm glow of Her Motherly love burst into radi- ance and shine upon us until every tiny fear flickered and died away. Now, as the last days of high school fade into dusk and the world looms before us, we raise our hands in supplication to the Lady of Light, praying that She stay with us, guiding our way through life into the wonders of eternity. ln loving exchange for Her Heaven-sent guidance, we, the seniors of Red Bank Catholic High School, dedicate to Mary, Our Queen and Our Mother, under the title of MORNING STAR, a glowing memory of four blessed years --THE EMERALD of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-three.
