A Fun-Filled, Exciting Day The Wild, Wild West was chosen as the theme this year for Homecoming. Q ' The first signs of Homecoming began a couple of weeks before the game. Posters with encouraging slogans were hung all over the school in hopes of bringing the Homecoming spirit to all. Petititons for King and Queen candidates were floating through the halls of Reavis along with announcements of coming events. Echoes of float locations, tickets for sale, and up-coming elections filled the minds of many. Clubs and organizations met every night for hectic weeks of pomping and pounding toward one goal - winning first place in the float competition. The Thursday pep rally signaled the beginning of an exciting weekend. The stands were filled with a roaring crowd anticipating the defeat of Sandburg. King and Queen candidates were introduced, spirit songs were sung, and a victory was promised by the team. Saturday morning was gloomy, dark, and cold. But, the spirit was warm as people lined the streets and stood watching in amazement and awe as the beautiful floats traveled the streets of Burbank. Characters such as cowboys and Indians walked in the parade accompanied by the Marching Band. Many floats and non-competitive cars participated in the parade. The Fighting Rams had prepared for this game all season, and looked forward to meeting the rival Sandburg team. Even though both the freshman and sophomore team lost, the varsity team won by the score of 20-0. With the weekend like this, Homecoming '80 proved to be one of the most memo- rable in years. - Shelly Fitzgerald Homecoming f29
