Prom f12 Prom Enchants on Last Big Night for Seniors of '80 It was the night before the annual prom. Anticipation and excite- ment were building. Questions like Is it going to rain or will it be a nice day? and Will it be warm or cold? were going through every- one's mind. As morning rolled around, and people were beginning to get up, they all rushed to their windows to see what the day would bring. It was the day they prayed for - a sunny but cool day. The Prom which has been going on for 29 years was held at the Conrad Hilton Hotel on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. The cost per couple was 840.00 which included a formal dinner for two, two bands, a stuffed animal, and a souvenir program. With two bands there was never a dull moment. The Dick Carlton Orchestra played ballroom music while the Episodes supplied the latest rock music. The Reavis students enjoyed continuous dancing throughout the night. The night was truly one of enchantment in the rich and formal Hil- ton setting. Cirls floated down the stairs in a variety of soft flowing gowns. The boys were equally impressive in their tuxedos. As the evening went on, the couples danced and danced without a worry. After the bands played their last numbers, the couples began to depart. Many went on to continue their evening in the exciting restau- rants of Chicago. Others chose a more quiet setting closer to home. Some took in an evening boat ride and walk. Plans for the next day included trips to Great America Amusement Park and the Dunes. This year's Prom turned out to be one of the finest in Reavis history. - Shelly Fitzgerald Dinner is served in the glamorous dining room of the Conrad Hilton Hotel. The excitement of Prom is shared between two friends. As the last song is perforined, lean Ki-nnx' and her date have their final dance. i i
