W I lam Cl ude K aa7iA The framed, tinted photograph of Dr. Reavis which hangs in the library was presented to the school by the graduating classes of 1952, 1953, and 1954. These are the groups which made up the freshman, sophomore and junior classes when the school first opened its doors in the fall of 1950. Dr. Reavis is Professor Emeritus of the University of Chicago, having dis- tinguished himself as an outstanding authority in the field of educational admin- istration. As an instructor, author, lecturer and consultant, he has made a signifi- cant contribution to American education. During the formative years of this school district, Dr. Rcavis advised the board of education and contributed considerably toward the development ol' the school and building program. It is with pride that this school bears the name of so distinguished an educa- tor and so fine a person as Dr. 1'Villiam Claude Reavis. ,,,,,1 nf' ,.4..f ,'N ,mf- i X G g Y ..aP ' ,.-,,f' -2 x - - X f X i gf , a ' A v 4 , Q f QQ, 'V Q, w 'S L1 3 '- A 12, gf -'H . The Student Council provides both this and a bridge for developing better relations between the ad- ministration and the student body. The council meets regularly, discussing school problems and remedying them. Members, all ol whom are elected by the students, regularly attend meet- ings with other councils of the conference and ol' nearby schools. Each year, dele- gates and a faculty sponsor travel to the State Convention ol' Councils, getting a broader view ol' many student governments. All refreshment concessions are distributed by the council, entertainment assemblies are selected by it, and other functions not within the scope ol' a spec- ial organization are sponsored by the council. ga, nf., - ....-...,.au. This sport is comparatively new at Reavis and is still in its developing stages. Early in the season, the squad competed in the two-mile stint at Glenbrook, winning 30 to 25. They next entered the Hinsdale meet and lost 41 to 24. Bloom followed, and the Reavis team trailed them by 29 points, 48 to 19, at the Hnal wire. In the proceeding race, the last of the season, Reavis toppled Glenbrook again, 40 to 17. The frosh-soph finished with an identical record, two wins and two defeats. They beat Glenbrook twice, 35 to 20 and 24 to 125 and they lost to Hinsdale, 20 to 45, and to Bloom, 15 to 64. 71 ' ' l fffeanuremnixa-.,,. iw: -f... Lee Gundberg was cast as Laurie Huntington, the stu- dent psychologist who tried her knowledge, but to no avail, on Tom Pinzino as Sid- ney Huntingtong Delores Kaz- mierowicz, Martha: and Don Baczynski, her brother, Mfallyg who composed her slightly eccentric family. Trouble a- rose when the Huntingtons and the XVoods resumed their traditional squabbling. Be- cause Ted XVood and Sidney disagreed on each others com- petitive business ethics and bickered constantly, XVally Huntington and Joan XVood were almost broken apart. Of course, through the common sense of Laurie and the rest of her generation involved, most of the hilarious compli- cations were solvedg and the play ended on an uncertain happy note. Having supporting roles in these three funny acts were Bill Bain, the bird lancierg Marlene Novak, Gus,'l the maidi Robert XVittenkeller, Mark Bradlordg Bill Yokus, .loan George and Marilyn Owens as the Mfoods lamilyg and Schnappsie, the clog.
