At the December meeting, Mrs. Colville was the guest speaker. She told of her trip to Greece. She showed slides and had a display of things she had collected while there. Bundle day was a success. JANUARY-World Clothing Week was a big success. Ken Ahlf and Jerry Cox were the local winners in a quiz sponsored by the Washington State Council of Farmer Cooperatives. In the district quiz Ken Ahlf placed first and Jerry Cox fourth. This year we had all out participation in the Grange essay contest with five boys winning local Grange first place awards. They were Don Williams David Hein Hal Johnson Bill Lynch and Jerry Cox. Ken Ahlf served as state treasurer this year. Bob Clouse was our official delegate to the state convention. Larry Dickey played in the state Band. Bob Brommer received the State Farmer Degree. Three Reardan boys attended the National F. F. A. Convention. They were Ken Ahlf State Treasurer- Dennis Fiess National Chorus- and Wayne Rattray winner of the Lions Club Trip. Indians Beat Gorillas 7-0 On November 6 the Reardan high school football tearn beat the Davenport Gorillas by a 7-O score. The game was played in the rain with a strong wind that grounded any passing defense. Delbert Wisdom quarterback ran over for the lone touchdown late in the fourth quarter. LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT The Lions Club Christmas Tournament was held this year on Dec. 29 and 3O. The four Teams which participated were Otis Orchards, Springdale, Sprague and Reardan. Reardan won the Tournament by defeating Sprague DAVE GA the first evening and then defeating Otis Orchards in the final playoffs. The final game was decided only after a double overtime during which Dave Grunerud sank the winning basket. The regular game ended with the score tied 44-44. They were ably assisted with points gathered by Larry Dickey in the weights and hurdles, Rich Stevens in hurdles and jumps, Larry Sullivan in the 880, Pat Barber in the pole vault, Ray Rhoads in hurdles and Orville Clouse in the sprints, Mike Baldwin and Bill Soden also worked out and served as managers, Mr. Baylor was the Coach.
