EDITOR Dear Staff, Well, kids, all of our headaches, long hours of hard work, and missing meals, are finally over. Our 1961 OWL is completed. It was a job well done, and I appreciate the work each of you did. We can a Iways look back through our school memories with pride, thanks to you. Mrs. Spiller, 1 would like to say, speaking for the whole staff, you were just great. We could not have done without you. All through the struggle you were right there to help, and you never griped when the going got rough. I can ' t think of anything more appropriate to say, except just thank you for being such a grand sponsor. Mr. Spiller, your cooperation in tak- ing pictures was surely appreciated. As assistant editor, Renee, your job was well done. Good luck to you next year (it ' s a job). This business was taken car e of quite well by our manager, Judy Wayne and her assistant, Irene. Thanks, gals. To Nola, Car a Jay and Chere, I ' d like to express my special gratitude for those clever artistic ideas. Isn ' t the Senior section great? Loy and Pat contributed to that. Our boys on the staff this year were outstanding in the field of advertising. The section was so complete and well done, Doug, Eddy, Tommy and Dickie. Almost all of the pictures were taken by our photo- graphers, Eddy and Doug . Boys, you deserve a trophy. .. (saved that money. } Irene, your dependability was an as- set to our staff, also. Diana, wasn ' t your time spent at the booster club well worth it? That page is nicely done.Judy Gooch and Pat Pi.yot, you two sat at the typewriter many long hours. . . thanks a lot. Three of our fish put in some long hours of work. . . .Judy Franklin, Diane Massey and Charity Arms. Here ' s hoping you continue to work on the staff next year. To the sixth period annual class, all I can say is that we would not have done it without you, as you worked every day to make deadlines. Good work, Kay Shields, Quincy, Jo Anne M. , Shirley, and Elaine. Do u Eddy and Tommy, your time in class was well spent, also. We ' d all like to thank Mr. Jacks for his time and effort spent with us, as representative of Newsfoto Publishing Company. Ann C. , you surely helped me a lot, too. Hasn ' t it been fun, staff? I couldn ' t have asked for a better group of kids, and I would like to say thanks for electing me to serve as your editor. It ' s just been swell, and I ' ll never forget any of you. Remember, . . . you only get out of something just what you put in. . .(each of you put a great deal into this annual.) I sincerely hope you haven ' t worked for praise and honor, but for the joy and satisfaction of giving to R. C. H. S. the greatest OWL yet. Thanks again and good luck always. Editor

DEDICATION Remember well and bear in mind, a true friend is hard to find; and when you find one that is true, trade not the old one for a new. We, the Annual Staff, proudly dedicate the 1961 Owl to C. C. Reed, maintenance personnel. When he ' s working in the halls, he smiles and speaks to one and all. In his three years. Reed has contributed much to our school in many ways: Kindness, thoughtfulness. friendli- ness, love, and advancement to the spirit in making R. C. H. S. a better school. We admire this outstanding man for his devoted services which truly qualify him for this honor. An abiding memory will always remain in our hearts, when we recall a very deserving individual, who has been a true friend to all.
