It seemed so big. A new world to explore, As a lowly freshman. The year passed and the World shrunk down To a comfortable size. Soon everyone knew where to Go, and how to get there, And settled in. No longer a new world, Just everyday life. For two more years We enjoyed our world Secure in the niches That we had developed. Any newness was forgotten. Then suddenly, the world Was too comfortable. Familiarity bred contempt, The fourth year heralded change It was time to leave. Now it seems so small. The once-endless corridors Have dwindled, Instead of giving space They box us in. It ' s time to go Into another new world. Time is carrying us on. With us, however, travel All of the good memories From our high school world. -Erin McCormack
