Class Amidst national problems, ranging from foreign relations to internal affairs, emerged a group of about 350 students. Half came from an age-old institution known as Parker, and the others hailed from a place called Coolidge. These students con¬ stituted a class of such enthu¬ siasm that it was labelled one of the most active. In its freshman year, the class of ' 86 showed promise to be a class of much energy. A rollerskating trip and a Canobie Lake Park ex¬ cursion were precursors to the fun this class would have. Michelle Carter began her four History year reign as class president, and along with the other officers got the class off on the right foot. The expected letdown after freshman year never became a reality, with activities such as return trips to Canobie Lake and rollerskating, and the Sophomore Class Field Day, the hayride, and our first annual Christmas Dance. Our continuous fundraisers built up a financial core that would go on to reach one of the higher class treasury marks in recent memory. Soon our junior year was upon us; we were upperclassmen. Once again the social aspects of the class dominated our school Are you sure you don ' t want a glass it ' s good? year with another hayride, the second annual Christmas Dance, the victory dance at the end of the basketball season, additional faculty versus students athletic matches, and the Junior Prom. Throughout the year we witnessed such events as Band- Aid and USA for Africa. In our own way, we continued our tradi¬ tion of donating to Toys for Tots, the cancer society, and other worthy charities. As the Junior Buffet approached, a call was sent out to the class by the advisors for help. The response was so over¬ whelming that the buffet was the biggest fund-raiser in the class ' s history. It came to be known that our class was one that would rise to the occasion. By the final year, t he class of ' 86 had established a reputation up to which it had to live. In observa¬ tion of an RMHS Halloween tradi¬ tion, the Senior class paid its dues, in the form of pumpkins, to Mrs. LeClaire. The Powder Puff football team rewrote school history when the girls recorded the first victory against their faculty opponents. The culmina¬ tion of the fall season came when Deirdre Driscoll was chosen the 1986 Homecoming Queen at the annual Thanksgiving Day Rally. The second annual Halloween Dance and the third Christmas Dance rounded off 1985 and prepared us for 1986. The senior year was capped off by such events as the Hawaiian Dance, Carnation Day, Senior Star Search, and such traditional events as the Slide Show, the Senior Banquet, and the Senior Prom, held at the Sheraton Rol¬ ling Green in Andover on May 30, 1986, and of course, graduation ceremonies. 30 Senior Life
