The real purpose of education is to help people find good and valid reasons for being alive and staying alive— to bring order out of disorder, to see sense in a welter of nonsense, to find beauty in a profusion of ugliness, and finally to develop life styles that will provide them a measure of contentment and serenity a cut above the purely animalistic level of existence. I congratulate those members of the graduating class who have achieved some of those insights. I grieve for the others who failed to make the effort to learn what RMHS was really all about. Ara A. Karakashian The daily obligation of attending school for many years has played an important part in developing your character. To be dependable is an outstanding trait for any person. Just as we all depend on the physical laws of the universe to give stability and continuity to our physical environment, so it is that we depend on each other to give continuity to our lives. Man depends on man. Other men are depending on you. Ernest G. Spence

It is our job as administrators to create a climate at RMHS in which teachers and students will do their jobs—happily, productively, and most important, ex¬ cellently. We strive to set a tone and esta blish a direction for the school from which everyone in the building benefits. That includes our work in scheduling, curriculum development, faculty supervision, student discipline. It causes us to be concerned with such things as budget and behavior. It is our educational goal to enable students to find their own educational goals. Perhaps one of the most significant words in our language is Why.” Not the surly Why” of the 20 horse¬ power rebel in search of a crusade, but that sincerely curious Why” with w ' hich a mature person tries to dis¬ cover his piece of truth. Habitual use of that question allows one to use the free inquiry which can lead to valid conclusions. It also allows the intelligent mind to change. It is, in reality, a beautiful word. L. F. D’Orlando Dr. Isa Zimmerman
