Dunkelberger Mr. Bernard Kaplan Safety Education, an eleventh grade course, was designed to em- phasize to Castle students the im- portance of practicing the prin- ciples of safety in the home, in the community, and on the highways. Library Staff Head Librarian-Miss Anna L. Stump Assistant Librarian- Mrs. Arlene K. Breiner Reading High School is one of the few high schools in the nation which offers a library science course to its students. In this library elective, students re- ceive library instruction one period per week and four laboratory periods per week of practical experience by per- forming tasks in the workroom and the main library. Students who select the library science course will find it a valuable asset in preparing for future library careers or for positions in related fields. Nt Miss Anna L. Stump. our head librarian, and her assistant, Mrs. Arlene K. Breiner, get the mater- ials ready for another busy day. In addition to charging books to and receiving books from Castle students, our student librarians performed a variety of other tasks at the circulation desk. Besides mending and preparing new books for circulation, the li- brary staff completed numerous other tasks such as typing book cards for the card catalogue.
